Ezgo Golf Cart Serial Number Location

For: Marathon (1976 - 1993) E-Z-GO Marathon models (1976 to 1993) The serial number and manufacturer's number for these E-Z-GO golf cart models can be found on a plate located under the glove box on the passenger's side of the vehicle. The serial number is either six or seven numbers and does not indicate the model year. Golf cart covers are other examples where the different sizes of tops and roof supports make the golf cart model and year extremely important to achieve a perfect fit. I don't think that I have seen a 2PG with a gas tank crossways behind the seat. Is it possible that someone has put a non standard tank in? What do you have under the drivers seat between the body frame and the outer body?
If you have electronic ignition and a stand up muffler the car will be either 81 -82 or 84 - 87 (unless it has a rubber front nose then it could be 88 -early 89). If you can still read the engine plate there will be a clue there as Fuji put a build date on the engine.
Hardatwork, your cart is 88- early 89 if that nose is original. BTW that engine looks in great shape.

When your Serial Number / Manufacturer’s Code includes a letter and three to four numbers in random order, your Golf Cart was built between 1979 to now. Check the digits in the code to extract the exact year as in the examples below:

When your Serial Number / Manufacturer’s Code has six digits or more and is not a 3 wheel, your Golf Car was manufactured between 1976 to 1978. Take a look the first six digits in date format as in the line below:
